We are currently accepting applications for a Project Engineer at our new state-of-the-art production facility in Milton, WI, conveniently located north of Janesville. The position works day shift hours Monday – Friday and requires occasional after-hours and weekend on-call support. Travel up to 25% to support other CQC sites, trade shows, and training can be expected.  The role will report to the Engineering Manager.

Assist with designing, planning, and executing capital and productivity improvement projects to expand company capacity, flexibility and capabilities.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Design, plan and execute medium sized capital projects or and productivity projects to support company growth within approved budget, scope and timeline.
  • Leads a cross-functional group of internal and external resources on all phases of assigned projects.
  • Completes and maintains all required paperwork, records, documents, and provides regular updates to the Director of Engineering.
  • Manages multiple small and medium sized projects simultaneously with the flexibility to make adjustments when required.
  • Ensure all projects are handed over to the respective departments by executing the capital completion process including coordinating all technical training, resolving all startup issues and providing technical documents.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of the capital process by focusing on safety, quality, flexibility and productivity.
  • Lead continuous improvement projects in manufacturing such as increasing capacity, decreasing cycle time, and improving methods of producing products.
  • Provide technical support and training to the maintenance department.
  • Serve as a technical resource for corporate functions such as Supply Chain and R&D.
  • Provide input to the capital and conceptual planning and prioritization process.
  • Travel to other CQC facilities, vendors, tradeshows, and/or training.
  • Perform all tasks assigned by the supervisor, while following all company, safety, and quality policies and procedures.
  • Provides mentoring to interns.
  • Maintain regular attendance at work.

Qualifications

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering or technical field
  • 3 years of Engineering Experience preferred
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment preferred
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • Proficient use of computer aided engineering software, such as CAD, MS-Project, etc.
  • Knowledge with PLC’s and PC-based controllers, and material science and selection is a plus.
  • Must have good driving record and valid driver’s license
